Word Organization Chart. A designer working with my manual wouldn't have to waste an hour figuring out the exact Hex code for the brand's primary green; they could find it in ten seconds and spend the other fifty-nine minutes working on the actual concept of the ad campaign. It was a slow, meticulous, and often frustrating process, but it ended up being the single most valuable learning experience of my entire degree. It sits there on the page, or on the screen, nestled beside a glossy, idealized photograph of an object. The designer of a mobile banking application must understand the user’s fear of financial insecurity, their need for clarity and trust, and the context in which they might be using the app—perhaps hurriedly, on a crowded train.
