Mindful journaling involves bringing a non-judgmental awareness to one’s thoughts and emotions as they are recorded on paper. Even looking at something like biology can spark incredible ideas. For example, biomimicry—design inspired by natural patterns and processes—offers sustainable solutions for architecture, product design, and urban planning. This new awareness of the human element in data also led me to confront the darker side of the practice: the ethics of visualization.
