If anyone can create a decent-looking layout with a template, what is our value? This is a complex question, but I am coming to believe that these tools do not make designers obsolete. This journey from the physical to the algorithmic forces us to consider the template in a more philosophical light. An object’s beauty, in this view, should arise directly from its perfect fulfillment of its intended task.
