Moreover, journaling can serve as a form of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), a widely used therapeutic approach that focuses on changing negative thought patterns. It is also the other things we could have done with that money: the books we could have bought, the meal we could have shared with friends, the donation we could have made to a charity, the amount we could have saved or invested for our future. What style of photography should be used? Should it be bright, optimistic, and feature smiling people? Or should it be moody, atmospheric, and focus on abstract details? Should illustrations be geometric and flat, or hand-drawn and organic? These guidelines ensure that a brand's visual storytelling remains consistent, preventing a jarring mix of styles that can confuse the audience. Is it a threat to our jobs? A crutch for uninspired designers? Or is it a new kind of collaborative partner? I've been experimenting with them, using them not to generate final designs, but as brainstorming partners.
