My first encounter with a data visualization project was, predictably, a disaster. This requires a different kind of thinking. It is important to remember that journaling is a personal activity, and there is no right or wrong way to do it. Does the proliferation of templates devalue the skill and expertise of a professional designer? If anyone can create a decent-looking layout with a template, what is our value? This is a complex question, but I am coming to believe that these tools do not make designers obsolete. I was proud of it. The budget constraint forces you to be innovative with materials.
