A printable version of this chart ensures that the project plan is a constant, tangible reference for the entire team. It was a tool, I thought, for people who weren't "real" designers, a crutch for the uninspired, a way to produce something that looked vaguely professional without possessing any actual skill or vision. It is a chart that visually maps two things: the customer's profile and the company's offering. It is an act of generosity, a gift to future designers and collaborators, providing them with a solid foundation upon which to build. An experiment involving monkeys and raisins showed that an unexpected reward—getting two raisins instead of the expected one—caused a much larger dopamine spike than a predictable reward. Allowing oneself the freedom to write without concern for grammar, spelling, or coherence can reduce self-imposed pressure and facilitate a more authentic expression.
