Just Now Chart

It is a process of observation, imagination, and interpretation, where artists distill the essence of their subjects into lines, shapes, and forms. To learn to read them, to deconstruct them, and to understand the rich context from which they emerged, is to gain a more critical and insightful understanding of the world we have built for ourselves, one page, one product, one carefully crafted desire at a time. I pictured my classmates as these conduits for divine inspiration, effortlessly plucking incredible ideas from the ether while I sat there staring at a blank artboard, my mind a staticky, empty canvas. The template represented everything I thought I was trying to escape: conformity, repetition, and a soulless, cookie-cutter approach to design. A well-designed chart leverages these attributes to allow the viewer to see trends, patterns, and outliers that would be completely invisible in a spreadsheet full of numbers. The moment I feel stuck, I put the keyboard away and grab a pen and paper.
