The accompanying text is not a short, punchy bit of marketing copy; it is a long, dense, and deeply persuasive paragraph, explaining the economic benefits of the machine, providing testimonials from satisfied customers, and, most importantly, offering an ironclad money-back guarantee. His argument is that every single drop of ink on a page should have a reason for being there, and that reason should be to communicate data. One of the first and simplest methods we learned was mind mapping. Artists might use data about climate change to create a beautiful but unsettling sculpture, or data about urban traffic to compose a piece of music. It’s the moment you realize that your creativity is a tool, not the final product itself.
