The freedom of the blank canvas was what I craved, and the design manual seemed determined to fill that canvas with lines and boxes before I even had a chance to make my first mark. It questions manipulative techniques, known as "dark patterns," that trick users into making decisions they might not otherwise make. This simple tool can be adapted to bring order to nearly any situation, progressing from managing the external world of family schedules and household tasks to navigating the internal world of personal habits and emotional well-being.
