Like most students, I came into this field believing that the ultimate creative condition was total freedom. For each and every color, I couldn't just provide a visual swatch. Just like learning a spoken language, you can’t just memorize a few phrases; you have to understand how the sentences are constructed. By the end of the semester, after weeks of meticulous labor, I held my finished design manual.
