If the catalog is only ever showing us things it already knows we will like, does it limit our ability to discover something genuinely new and unexpected? The same principle applies to global commerce, where the specifications for manufactured goods, the volume of traded commodities, and the dimensions of shipping containers must be accurately converted to comply with international standards and ensure fair trade. 58 This type of chart provides a clear visual timeline of the entire project, breaking down what can feel like a monumental undertaking into a series of smaller, more manageable tasks. This chart might not take the form of a grayscale; it could be a pyramid, with foundational, non-negotiable values like "health" or "honesty" at the base, supporting secondary values like "career success" or "creativity," which in turn support more specific life goals at the apex.
