It’s strange to think about it now, but I’m pretty sure that for the first eighteen years of my life, the entire universe of charts consisted of three, and only three, things. In the sprawling, interconnected landscape of the digital world, a unique and quietly revolutionary phenomenon has taken root: the free printable. The 3D perspective distorts the areas of the slices, deliberately lying to the viewer by making the slices closer to the front appear larger than they actually are. This was a profound lesson for me. Why that typeface? It's not because I find it aesthetically pleasing, but because its x-height and clear letterforms ensure legibility for an older audience on a mobile screen. It’s about understanding that your work doesn't exist in isolation but is part of a larger, interconnected ecosystem.
